Ozie Davis III is a lifelong Avondale resident having moved back to the street he was born on after graduate and law school at Indiana University. Before joining Congressman Steve Driehaus’ office as his Community Liaison, Davis spent five years in the field of Community Development as a Program Officer at the Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC). While at LISC, Davis was fortunate to work on Housing, Safety, Education, Workforce Development, Commercial Development, Community Organizing, and other community based initiatives.
Davis is an active member of the Avondale Community Council, where he co-founded the Avondale Youth Council and Residents United for a Better Avondale (RUFABA). Davis is a board member of Cincinnati ’s Citizens Complaint Authority, member of Parents for Public Schools of Greater Cincinnati, Chair of Rockdale Academy’s Local School Decision Making Committee, and an advisory board member for the Cincinnati Reds Community Fund. Davis also volunteers for the United Way and is a faithful member of Southern Baptist Church. Davis also founded and is Board Chair of the Queen City Youth Development Program, a program for 13-18yr old inner city student athletes. Having a long athletic background at Walnut Hills High School and Miami University before earning a Masters in Applied Sports Science, Davis serves as the Sports Editor for the Cincinnati Herald, the City’s African American weekly. Davis is a graduate of the Grassroots Leadership Academy and its Train the Trainer Program as well as Class XIV of the Urban Leagues African American Leadership Development Program. Davis is also a Center of Progressive Leadership Political Leader Fellow Davis' ’ greatest commitment is to wife Beverly and son, Ozie Davis IV.
